ANALYGENCE intends to provide cybersecurity and privacy technical expertise for the development of standards, guidelines, and research documents, as well as provide support services to NIST to engage stakeholders. We are seeking a Developer III to support this mission.

Our organization is dedicated to delivering technical expertise and consultation in multiple specified areas of cyber and information security and privacy to ensure that the NIST mission can be met to "provide standards, technology, tools, and practices to protect our nation's information and information systems. NIST expects the requirements of its mission to expand and anticipates the need for support in meeting these requirements. The support needed to ensure a successful mission ranges from internal programmatic support to technical expertise and research consulting in a wide range of cyber and information security areas. It is also anticipated that Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) will need support with outreach efforts of various kinds.

This position will work remotely from a home office. Duties may include, but are not limited to:



  • Analyzing functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
  • Developing block diagrams and logic flow charts.
  • Translating detailed design into computer software.
  • Testing, debugging, and refining the computer software to produce the required product.
  • Preparing required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
  • Enhancing software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
  • Providing guidance and training to less experienced analysts/programmers.
  • 3+ years of strong hands-on experience withJava, Spring Boot, and Angular.
  • Background in building secure applications, including fixing vulnerabilities found by security tools.
  • Experience working in AWS environments, especially deploying applications and using Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Understanding of automated testing (unit, API, UI, regression) and working within CI/CD pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work in structured, documentation-heavy environments (e.g., government, regulated industries)
  • Familiarity with 508/WCAG accessibility for user interfaces
  • Experience updating or building systems based on schemas, data models, or structured taxonomies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear documentation, release notes, and traceability artifacts
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments (standups, sprint reviews, backlog grooming, daily commits)
  • Proven ability to work on public-facing or high-security systems, especially with detailed review and compliance cycles.


Minimum Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, cybersecurity, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.
  • Master's degree in an IT-related field may be substituted for 2 years' experience.
  • PhD in an IT-related field may be substituted for 5 years' experience.
  • OR no college degree and 11 years of general IT-related experience, of which at least 5 years must be specialized experience as a developer.
