Executive Service EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1 Department of Commerce & Insurance State Fire Marshall's Office Nashville, TN Monthly Salary: $5,100.00 - $7,646.00 Closing Date: 12/08/2025Who we are and what we do: The mission of the Tennessee State Fire Marshals Office (SFMO) is to prevent the loss of life and property to fire. The SFMO falls under the Department of Commerce & Insurance. Job Overview: The EAA1 will provide administrative support directly to the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Fire Prevention. The AC of Fire Prevention oversees the Directors of the following divisions: Tennessee Fire Service & Codes Enforcement Academy (TFACA); Firefighting Commission (FFC); Codes Enforcement & Plans Review; Electrical, Residential, and Marina (ERM) Inspections; Manufactured Homes, Modular Buildings, Licensing, and Fire Complaints; Education & Outreach; Grants; and Programs & Policy. Key Responsibilities: This position provides executive-level administrative support to the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Fire Prevention by: 1. Serving as a point of contact for the Fire Prevention division to both internal and external stakeholders and responding on behalf of the AC as requested. 2. Maintaining the ACs calendar, including scheduling meetings and arranging travel. 3. Assisting the AC and other divisional leadership with memos, travel authorizations, expense reports, and supply orders as needed. 4. Acting as the divisions timekeeper, including approving payable time and leave requests on behalf of the AC. 5. Authoring and disseminating the employee newsletter, as well as other communications, for the division. 6. Compiling and submitting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports on an as-needed basis. 7. Completing additional administrative tasks and projects as needed by the AC or other divisional leadership. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and a minimum of two years of full-time professional administrative experience.
