SUMMARY
Works under supervision of the RFS Technical Advisor to assist with engineering problems at RFS. Handles assignments and projects requiring knowledge of concepts, methods, and application of engineering principles while maintaining a high level of integrity and safety awareness.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read Responsible for hands-on engineering technical support, as assigned, for cylinders (high and low pressure including valves, fittings, O-rings, certification, dependability, repair and maintenance), blind cells, view cells, viscometers (electromagnetic), pump stations, transfer benches, density meters, Ruska cell stations, gas boosters, resistor (electric and pneumatic), PFI systems, MMP systems, TVP service, Mobile Laboratories, heating units, equipment jigs, cryogenic distillation units, pneumatic systems, cylinder transport boxes (Safe-Tran 3025 and heated transport boxes), generators, TVP sampling tools and ovens. Support to include, but not be limited to, calibrations, certifications, assembly and functionality & safety of equipment / systems.
- Assist PVT laboratory operations on an as needed basis under the direction of the PVT Laboratory Manager.
- Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workplace
- Fire/Security system maintenance and support, wastewater and septic maintenance, and gate maintenance all under the coordination of the RFS Safety Officer.
- Responsible for general maintenance issues for the entire facility and all buildings on property.
- Repair, inventorying and modification and / or maintenance of all RFS equipment as assigned.
- Assignment to special projects, as required.
- Demonstrates and possesses knowledge of products, materials, processes, procedures and industry practices to provide the required level of technical and engineering support.
- All duties and functions to be performed within time parameters set by departmental and project requirements. A professional attitude should be prevalent representing an eagerness to learn and strong customer awareness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Trade School with courses in engineering and/or technical skill development (mechanical, electrical, computers, machining, industrial technology); or eight or more years' related experience and/or training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
