Job Summary:

The Project Controls Specialist III will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of civil engineering projects through expert planning, cost management, scheduling, and performance monitoring. The position involves coordinating and managing project controls processes, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the client's specifications. This is a senior-level role that requires a deep understanding of project management principles, civil engineering practices, and advanced software tools.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop realistic project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

* Analyze critical path, float, and resource allocation to ensure the project remains on track.

* Conduct schedule risk assessments.

* Assist in the development of project cost estimates and budgets, ensuring they align with project scope and client expectations.

* Monitor ongoing project expenditures, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs, ensuring projects stay within budget.

* Prepare regular cost reports for senior management and clients, detailing the status of expenditure and forecasts.

* Track and evaluate project performance, using earned value management (EVM) or other project control metrics to assess progress.

* Produce regular reports on project health, identifying any potential schedule delays, cost overruns, or risks.

* Perform variance analysis and provide solutions for project issues to the project team and management.

* Ensure that project changes (e.g., scope changes, design modifications) are properly tracked and managed within the project controls systems.

* Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and constraints.

* Attend project meetings to provide updates on project controls status and assist in decision-making.

* Coordinate with construction and engineering teams to ensure alignment between schedules and budgets.

* Maintain accurate records of project schedules, cost data, and progress reports.

* Prepare and submit periodic project reports to stakeholders, including budget updates, performance metrics, and risk assessments.

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of project control processes and procedures.

* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project controls staff and assist in their professional development.

* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).

* 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience working in project controls.

* Proven experience managing large, complex projects with a deep understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and performance monitoring.

* Advanced proficiency in project management and controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, CostOS, etc.).

* Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, risk management, and cost control practices.

* Experience with earned value management (EVM) and other performance measurement techniques.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.

* Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Hours and Travel:
