Get to Know Your Team:

  • UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level IV stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

Responsibilities

  • The pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations.
  • Can participate as a member of a team with reliability and punctuality.
  • Does related work, as required.
  • Maintain competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 2+ year's previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
  • Completion of sterile compounding training/competency (as required by State BOP).
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
