Here's what you'd do:

  • The Senior Development Engineer will be part of the R&D (Research and Development) organization and play a crucial role in the development of the next-generation robotic platform, which will revolutionize the future of healthcare.
  • You will be a visible technical resource working on the development of a complex electromechanical system.
  • There will be direct contribution from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment.
  • This role is suited for a senior-level R&D (Research and Development) engineer with experience working cross-functionally to complete V&V (Verification and Validation) activities, improve incoming inspection procedures, author documentations, and support R&D (Research and Development) development activities.
  • Develop test methods, protocols, execute tests, prepare reports, and release them via ECOs.
  • Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout.
  • Propose requirements refinement to support V&V (Verification and Validation) activities better.
  • Analyze test results. Apply statistical analysis as needed.
  • Support incoming inspection activities as needed.
  • Support fixture/ equipment validation as needed.
  • Support multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects.
  • Support vendor communications and procurement issues.
  • Perform issue resolutions on multi-disciplinary technical issues within the program.
  • Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $68.89/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week - 1st shift.

Length: Temp (12 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in complex electromechanical system development within an R&D (Research and Development) environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavily-regulated industries such as medical device or aerospace.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fixture and process validation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in using statistical tools and software such as Minitab.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in assembly, integration, and test of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, including task timeline estimation and work breakdown structures.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering.
  • Proficient in developing test methods, protocols, performing tests, and releasing relevant documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for the development of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Previous experience in design transfer/new product introduction.
  • A working knowledge of DFM/A, Six Sigma, and statistical tolerance analysis.
  • Familiarity with ASME drafting standards, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) (Y14.5-2018).
  • Demonstrated CAD (Computer-Aided Design) proficiency.
  • SolidWorks.
  • Experience using, modifying, and programming in MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW.
  • Outstanding documentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office.
