Associate Technical Consultant - Northeast

Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: Support the sales team in identifying and developing customer opportunities through effective communication and technical knowledge. Assist in building relationships within the assigned territory by providing accurate product information and coordinating technical support. Participate in on-site and remote demonstrations with guidance from senior team members. Collaborate with North America Branch sales representatives to help move sales opportunities forward. Contribute to post-sale activities that support ongoing product adoption.

This is covering the Northeast territory. An ideal candidate would be located within the territory.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Technical Overlay/Sales Behaviors:

* Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner, collaborating with the appropriate teams such as: Tech Serv, North America Marketing (NAM), Cust Serv, Field Support Scientist (FSS), Global Clinical Collaborations Manager (GCCM), Clinical Account Consultant (CAC), Strategic Collaborations Management Team (SCMT), Strategic Product Manager (SPM), Strategic Business Unit (SBU), R&D etc.to ensure a positive customer experience.

* Develop foundational knowledge of Promega's product lines and applications, with the ability to effectively communicate this knowledge to customers.

* Facilitate alignment of Promega's offerings to customer-specific challenges and objectives.

* Support relationship-building efforts with internal teams such as R&D, Marketing and Operations.

* Represent Promega with professionalism; contribute ideas and share perspectives in team settings. Consistently bring voice of customers back to internal teams to support both product and process improvement.

2. Sales Tools (Outlook/CRM/PowerBI/LinkedIn/Showpad):

* Craft clear, professional, and thoughtful customer communications.

* Enter and maintain thorough customer notes and interactions in CRM.

* Learn sales process metrics and expectations.

3. Continuous Improvement:

* Actively maintain an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in partnership with your manager.

* Participate in annual assessments and regular check-ins with your manager.

* Seek and complete training to develop technical knowledge, communication, and sales skills relevant to your role.

4. Flexible in handling change, meeting a standard of excellence, persistent in pursuing goals despite obstacles and setbacks. Self-awareness of how behaviors can affect our colleagues. Keeping disruptive emotions and impulses in check, sensing other's feelings, and perspectives to advocate and voice opinions and viewpoints appropriately within and outside Promega. Model behavior for the Technical Consultant team.

7. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. BS or BA in Life Sciences ideally with laboratory experience in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and/or Protein Biochemistry.

2. 0-3 years' experience in technical writing/editing or teaching in a life sciences or related environment.

3. Hands-on lab experience and familiarity with core life science applications such as genomics, STRs or sequencing workflows.

4. Ability to explain scientific concepts, experimental design and basic techniques in a clear and professional manner.

5. Familiarity with biosafety practices and experience handling biological samples.

6. Willingness to adapt to change, demonstrate curiosity and approach challenges with a learning mindset.

7. Strong collaboration skills; works well in team environments.
