Job Title: Senior Accountant

Division: Finance

Reports To: Head of North America External Reporting

Key Relationships: US Controller

Job Summary: The Senior Financial Analyst role represents a key function in the US Finance team. The primary responsibilities of the position will be leading Corporate Accounting, including financial analysis, research, and technical expertise. This position will also service a point person in working with the team to identify key areas where we can employ automation and tools and in implementing these solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation, review and analysis of corporate accounting responsibilities, including GAAP consolidation and cost-plus arrangements
  • Coordination with shared functions including investments and expenses to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information
  • Prepare statutory financial exhibits related to corporate accounting responsibilities
  • Champion process optimization within the finance function, leveraging technology and best practices to streamline operations and reduce manual effort
  • Own initiatives to analyze, prioritize and implement improvements in financial reporting and close processes, including automation and system enhancements
  • Complete controls over corporate accounting to ensure effectiveness, assessing and updating on an as needed basis
  • Other ad hoc projects and tasks, as required

Personal Specification:

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 4- 5 Years' Minimum Accounting experience, preferably in the property-casualty insurance industry
  • Public accounting and/or Corporate Accounting experience preferable
  • Process improvement and automation experience required
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI and Alteryx experience a plus

Knowledge and Experience

  • Solid knowledge of accounting concepts/theories (GAAP & NAIC statutory)

  • General Ledger experience

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $105,000-$117,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus.
