Position Summary

The Finance Manager will oversee all financial processes related to boat sales, inventory management, customer financing, and dealership operations. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in retail or dealership finance (marine, automotive, RV, or similar), and the ability to collaborate across sales, service, and executive teams.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support pricing, margins, and profitability.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

Boat Sales & Dealership Finance Operations

  • Manage financing and warranty products offered to customers.
  • Review and approve customer credit applications and funding packages.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for boat sales, trade-ins, and titling/registration.
  • Work with lenders, finance partners, and insurance providers to maintain strong relationships.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain internal controls, safeguarding company assets and reducing financial risks.
  • Support audits and ensure accurate documentation of all financial transactions.

Business Strategy & Support

  • Advise leadership on financial performance, opportunities, and risks.
  • Support inventory management, including valuation and stocking decisions.
  • Assist in pricing strategies for new and used vessels to optimize profitability.

Qualifications Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of finance or accounting experience, ideally in a dealership, retail, or marine industry environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g., Lightspeed, Dealertrack, CDK) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
