Job Summary

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role provides financial insights that support strategic decision-making and ensures strong internal controls, efficient financial processes, and overall organizational financial health.

Job Responsibilities




  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.



  • Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries, amortizations, reconciliations, and intercompany balancing.



  • Produce and distribute financial and operational reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.



  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting financial results to support business decisions.



  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against financial goals.



  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and recommend improvements to operational and financial performance.



  • Implement and maintain risk-mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.



  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.



  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, including preparation and filing of corporate tax documentation.



  • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.



  • Select, implement, and maintain financial systems and software to improve efficiency.



  • Perform other related duties as assigned.




Job Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.



  • CPA certification or active progress toward completion.



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.



  • Excellent listening, communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.



  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Oracle).



  • Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations.



  • Experience with financial modeling, planning, budgeting, and forecasting.



  • Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools.



  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.



  • Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, leadership aptitude, flexibility, and strong work ethic.




Education




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required).



  • CPA certification or active pursuit (preferred).




Work Experience




  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands for computer and phone operation.



  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.



  • Occasional lifting or moving of light objects.



  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with moderate noise.



  • Local or overnight travel may be required.
