Construction Quality Control Manager - Buckley AFB (Aurora, CO)

Location: Aurora, CO (Buckley Air Force Base)

Start Date: November 3, 2025

Duration: Up to 18 months

Schedule:

  • Phase 1: 24/7 drilling operations for 4-5 weeks (candidate will cover day shift only)
  • Phase 2: Transition to standard dayshift construction for remaining duration

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) to support a federal construction project at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, CO. The project involves installation of a deep non-potable water supply well, followed by construction of a structure around the well and installation of the distribution system.

The QCM will be responsible for managing quality assurance and quality control functions during all phases of construction, coordinating preparatory and initial inspections, maintaining documentation in RMS, and ensuring full compliance with USACE EM 385-1-1 and contract specifications.

This is a federal construction environment, and prior USACE or military installation experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee QC activities during drilling and construction phases (day shift)
  • Conduct and document preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections
  • Maintain accurate QC documentation within the RMS system
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent, SSHO, and Project Manager to ensure quality compliance
  • Prepare and maintain submittal logs, test reports, and daily QC reports
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with the client's quality representatives

Required Qualifications:

  • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certification - Required
  • Minimum 5+ years of construction quality control experience on federal or military projects
  • Working knowledge of RMS and preparatory meeting procedures
  • Strong understanding of EM 385-1-1 and federal construction standards
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, or AFCEC projects
  • Prior experience on well installation, civil, or water infrastructure projects (nice-to-have)
  • Local to Aurora, CO or surrounding area (preferred)

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $55/hr - $60/hr
  • Per Diem/Travel: Negotiable based on candidate location

Availability:

Position is urgent - project begins November 3, 2025. The client is currently performing early-phase setup and would prefer a candidate who can mobilize as soon as possible for onboarding and preconstruction coordination.
