Elderwood at Hornell is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) - Unit Manager to oversee nursing services and social programming for all residents on an assigned unit. This role ensures resident safety and quality care, supervises nursing staff, coordinates with interdisciplinary teams, and manages daily operations for the unit.

Elderwood at Hornell:
- Nestled among the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains along the Canisteo River in Steuben County, you'll find Elderwood at Hornell. The skilled nursing facility, just 55 miles south of Rochester, NY, offers an experienced and dedicated staff that cares for residents who need long-term nursing home and memory care. Comprehensive physical, occupational and speech therapy are provided in an updated therapy suite. Elderwood at Hornell also provides Adult Medical Day Services to members of the community.
Responsibilities
RN - Unit Manager Responsibilities
Oversee nursing services and social programming for residents on assigned unit 24/7 Assure development, implementation, and evaluation of residents' nursing care plans Coordinate interdisciplinary goals and approaches to resident care needs Supervise, evaluate, and provide guidance to nursing staff; participate in hiring and termination decisions Attend meetings and in-service training as requested by the Administrator and Director of Nursing Maintain unit environment to ensure safety, order, and well-being for residents and staff Encourage staff involvement and recognize exceptional contributions Generate and develop initiatives to improve resident care quality and staff satisfaction
RN - Unit Manager Skills/Competencies
Strong leadership and supervisory skills Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written Team-focused and collaborative demeanor Caring, compassionate, and empathetic attitude toward residents Ability to inspire and motivate staff
Qualifications
RN - Unit Manager Qualifications
Required:
Active state license as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current registration Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience and at least one (1) year in a nursing leadership role Current BLS/CPR certification Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing - Regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors

- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
