Job Overview

As the receiving team people leader you are the player/peer-leader who will help direct a shared team of colleagues who are responsible for the completion of daily receiving and processing tasks. The people leader sets high standards and motivates the team to meet objectives that augment the customer's experience by ensuring that all merchandise is received and processed to selling floor presentation standards.

Essential Functions

Build Together



  • Train and lead all RTM colleagues to receive and process, and execute reverse logistics, to completion daily within the allocated time.
  • Train and lead OTM colleagues participating in processing.
  • Work side by side with the team, spending 70% of your time as an active member modeling execution behaviors while providing regular feedback to colleagues.
  • Allocate 30% of your time to supervising through teaching, prioritization, task management, and allocation of resources.
  • Recognize performance above standard and celebrate with the individual and the team.
  • Promote an open door to welcome concerns from coworkers from all levels and positions.
  • Ensure that all newly hired RTM colleagues successfully complete all new hire training and orientation and are transitioned into Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store culture.
  • Partner with other store leaders to ensure successful execution of shared functions and expectations.


Make Things Happen



  • Utilize workload projection tools and forecasts daily to plan workload completion in advance, and plan movement of staff to concentrate on velocity by FOB.
  • Achieve company compliance standards in all receiving & processing metrics including trailer receipt/logging, outbound loading/logging, senso placement, and shortage prevention initiatives.
  • Deliver new receipt processing to completion each day, on time, and to our processing standards to support an outstanding selling floor presentation and customer experience.
  • Ensure a clean, well-maintained and safe environment by following all processing standards and maintenance of all applicable equipment.
  • Ensure all necessary tools and supplies are fully stocked at all times. Order additional when needed.
  • Embrace and be proficient with technology - is the key instore subject matter expert for all receiving & processing related applications, devices, and functions. Appropriately schedule self and staff to stay within allocated hours while completing the work.

  • Set and role model a high expectation in receiving with attention to detail, all in support of driving sales through fast, efficient, and accurate completion.
  • Role model and coach to customer interaction expectations and standards while working on the selling floor.
  • Promote sensitivity to diversity and Bloomingdale's commitment to an environment free of hostility, harassment, or discrimination of any kind


Dream Big, Be Bold



  • Develops and elevates the RTMs, ensures daily coverage to ensure daily completion of all inbound and outbound workload.
  • Shares feedback with store leadership on execution, completion, and details of product received and processed.
  • Lead the evolution of Receiving & Processing with new ideas for greater efficiency.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the store leadership team, understanding and delivering on all store goals and plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications and Competencies



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department.
    • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders.
    • Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
    • Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs.
