The Director of Intake provides strategic and operational leadership for the hospital's Admissions Department, ensuring effective access to care and clinical assessment services. This role oversees a team of specialists responsible for patient evaluations, level-of-care determinations, call management, crisis intervention, and coordination of admissions and referrals.

The Director collaborates closely with medical staff, nursing, administration, and external partners-including referral sources and payers-to ensure efficient, patient-centered intake operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to Intake team members, promoting service excellence and clinical accuracy.
  • Oversee departmental budget, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and analyze data related to admissions trends, access metrics, and patient experience.
  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance patient access and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work or related field, or active RN license in the state of Kentucky.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of related experience required. Prior experience in psychiatric patient care and understanding of mental illness is preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN, LCSW, or LMFT license required (in the appropriate state of practice).
  • Additional Requirements: Must obtain CPI and CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Hours: Primarily day shift, with occasional evening and weekend coverage as directed by the CEO.
