 This position will support theCentral Region. The Central Region is made up of Westwood, Century City,
 Beverly Hills and Santa Monica area, primarily in the Westwood Campus area,
 Century City and Beverly Hills, providing patient care for our inpatient and
 outpatient settings. This position participates in on-call, holiday, and
 weekend schedules as prepared by the manager. Additionally, participation in
 rotating shifts is required, as needed.

 In this role, youwill:
 
   
 
    Provide age-appropriateassessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and
 families served
Obtain, evaluate and useinformation from the patient requisition, medical records, referring
 physician and correlate with acquired images
Use cognitivesonographic skills, to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology
Use independentjudgement to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing
 diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our
 interpreting physicians
Extend courtesy to ourpatients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our "World Class
 Practices" Service Standards
 
 Internalcandidates will be placed according to their Active/Current career ladder
 level.
 ExternalCandidates:
 Staff Sonographer: 
   
 
    One to two yearsexperience within the hospital / acute care setting
Must maintain activeRDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN
Graduate of CAAHAPaccredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred
Salary Range: $58.74 -$77.50 Hourly
 
 Senior Sonographer(Advancement into Senior Sonographer job classification will be assessed after
 6 months with UCLA Health):
 
   
 
    Minimum of four years ofprior experience within the hospital / acute care setting
Must maintain ActiveRDMS certification in three specialties: Abdomen, OB-GYN and RVT
Proficient in Abdomen,OB/Gyn, Pediatric and Vascular Sonography. Additionally, proficiency
 in interventional procedures
Graduate of CAAHAPaccredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred
Salary Range: $65.55 -$79.93 Hourly
 
 Salary Range (Staffthrough Senior): $58.74 - $79.93 Hourly
 Qualifications

 Staff Ultrasound Technologist 
   
 At least 1 year of acutecare (hospital) experience - required
RDMS credential in onespecialty (Abdomen or OBGYN) - required
 Senior Ultrasound Technologist 
   
 4 years of prior acutecare (hospital) experience - required (Advancement into Senior job classification
 will be assessed after 6 months with UCLA Health)
RDMS credential inAbdomen, OBGYN and RVT - required
 General Requirements 
   
 BLS/CPRCertificate - required
Graduate of CAAHAPultrasound program - strongly preferred
AAS or higher in MedicalSonography - preferred
RDMS (AB or OBGYN) -minimum requirement
Advanced skills in Vascular and / or MSK ultrasound -preferred
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interactwith patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in a
 professional and courteous manner
Ability to accept and carry out oral and writteninstructions accurately
Ability to employ independent decision making,prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion within
 allotted time
Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy andthoroughness
Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS andHIS Information systems.
Knowledge of medical terminology with the ability todistinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s)
 and medical diagnoses
