The Communications Manager will lead the strategy, development, and execution of internal communications to enhance engagement, alignment, and connectivity across the organization. This role ensures team members are informed, inspired, and aligned with the company's mission, goals, policies, and culture.
The Communications Manager will act as a strategic partner to executive leadership and senior leaders, driving initiatives that translate business strategies into compelling messaging and impactful programs. They will oversee and evolve internal communication platforms, implement best practices, and foster a culture of transparency and inclusivity. The ideal candidate is a creative leader, strategic thinker and strong storyteller that will be responsible for building and elevating the internal communications function, collaborating across teams to deliver consistent, high-impact communications, and contributing to the long-term success and cultural vibrancy of NRI.

Essential Duties
  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies and plans that drive team member engagement, strengthen culture, support organizational objectives, and promote the NRI brand.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and management of communication events and programs, including leadership town halls, celebratory events, PR activities, and other brand initiatives.
  • Provide strategic communications guidance to leadership teams, HR staff, and managers, ensuring alignment of messaging with company goals and values.
  • Produce accurate, compelling, and editorially proficient written communications, including newsletters, talking points, presentations, intranet updates, and press releases.
  • Manage the team member newsletter and develop engaging news stories, announcements, and features for the intranet and other communication channels.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of team member communications, ensuring consistency with organizational standards and branding.
  • Partner with Communications Managers, HR leaders, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to align, support and reinforce communication strategies that enhance both internal engagement and external reputation.
  • Consult and advise HR on strategies for effectively communicating policies, programs, and benefits to team members.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, HR leaders, and Talent Acquisition to execute employer brand growth and development strategies that attract, engage, and retain top talent.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Public Relations, and other internal teams to review and align team member communications with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Drive initiatives that navigate growth and organizational change while maintaining transparency and engagement.
  • Represent senior management in their absence, ensuring continuity in messaging and decision-making.
  • Foster a connected and inclusive culture by managing recognition programs, team member resource groups, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Plan and manage internal events, including team member meetings, engagement programs, and special celebrations.
  • Support leadership with messaging and logistics for high-impact team member-facing events.
  • Design and implement internal communication programs, processes, and tools that adhere to organizational standards and best practices.
  • Identify and incorporate communication trends to continuously evolve internal communications and improve team member engagement.
  • Monitor and measure the impact of communication initiatives, using insights to refine strategies and achieve business goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Strategic Communication, or a related field.
  • 7 - 9 years of experience in internal communications or a related field, with demonstrated success in strategic planning and project management.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including exceptional grammar, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously while consistently delivering high-quality, on-time results.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with team member engagement tools and platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Viva Engage.
  • Skills in photography, video production, and multimedia content creation.
  • Familiarity with team member engagement platforms and survey tools.
