Job Summary and Responsibilities

Summary

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for designing and governing enterprise-wide technical architectures that enable Acentra Health's transformation initiatives, with a strong emphasis on AWS cloud technologies and modern data platforms. This role establishes enterprise principles, patterns, standards, and practices for integrating third-party software platforms (COTS), advancing cloud adoption, and evolving the organization's data lake/lakehouse capabilities.

As a technical expert, trusted advisor, and strategic partner, the Enterprise Architect will guide leadership in executing technology investments, aligning with enterprise strategy, and delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate operational support, maintenance, and integration activities for enterprise third-party applications
  • Architect and scale AWS-native services including S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and Athena. Leverage PostgreSQL and PySpark for distributed data processing, transformation, and advanced analytics
  • Serve as the Enterprise UDP technical architect, aligning solutions with governance, security, and enterprise standards while driving data lake/lakehouse evolution
  • Implement federated data patterns using virtualization tools to unify attributes across data sources. Enable governed self-service access through semantic layers that provide consistency and transparency
  • Enable metadata management, cataloging, role-based access control (RBAC), and auditability. Ensure all architecture adheres to HIPAA Privacy and Security rules and aligns with enterprise governance policies
  • Provide actionable guidance and foresight to business and IT partners, ensuring technology investments, risks, and initiatives are proactively managed in alignment with corporate strategies
  • Perform technology investment analysis, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), to drive cost-effective adoption of AWS and third-party solutions. Partner with Solution Architects to assess vendors and emerging technologies
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, reusable cloud-native components. Evaluate emerging AWS services and technologies to keep the enterprise ahead of industry trends
  • Contribute to enterprise policies, processes, and methodologies that guide technology decisions, accelerate cloud adoption, and ensure effective evolution of the enterprise architecture
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of enterprise, solution, or application architecture experience, with proven success in cloud-native and AWS architectures
  • Strong expertise in AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena) and distributed data processing technologies (PostgreSQL, PySpark)
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure, application integration, security, and data governance
  • Experience developing strategies and delivering large-scale projects on time and under budget
  • Deep understanding of data flows between internal/external systems, including APIs, ETL, and federated data virtualization
  • Familiarity with change management and release management processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and architectural design skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business process flows into practical cloud-based and enterprise-wide solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience (preferred)
