Description

Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one-hour lunch breaks each day. APA sets salaries based on several considerations, including years of relevant experience, level of education, and previous staff and/or governance experience at APA.

The Lead Salesforce Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the technical architecture of Salesforce solutions across the APA Salesforce Platform. This role ensures scalable, secure, and high-performing implementations that align with organizational strategy and best practices.

Education and Experience Required:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).


Experience:



  • 10+ years of progressive Salesforce platform experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead or architect-level role.
  • Proven experience designing Salesforce multi-cloud solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, etc.).
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture frameworks, including data modeling, security, and integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale, high-volume Salesforce implementations (B2B/B2C).
  • Strong track record in solution governance, DevOps/CI/CD, and platform performance optimization.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, business stakeholders, and IT leadership.
  • Familiarity with AI/Agent-based technologies, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and modern digital experience design is a plus.


Computer Skills Required:

Salesforce Expertise:



  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, and LWC.
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming) and integration tools (MuleSoft, Workato, n8n, etc.).
  • Expertise in Salesforce DevOps tools (Copado, SFDX, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security model, sharing rules, and role hierarchy.


General Technical Skills:



  • Proficiency with data architecture, relational databases, and ETL/integration frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and API management.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile project management tools (Jira, Confluence).


Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design



  • Lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce solutions across APA's Salesforce Platform.
  • Define and enforce technical standards, patterns, and best practices for development and integrations.
  • Provide technical leadership in multi-cloud and cross-system integrations.


Governance & Strategy



  • Serve as the technical authority for Salesforce roadmap planning and platform scalability.
  • Partner with Product Owners and IT leadership to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Drive data modeling, security, and performance optimization strategies.


Collaboration & Leadership



  • Mentor and guide developers, admins, and junior architects on technical best practices.
  • Represent the Salesforce Platform team in cross-functional meetings, vendor discussions, and APA leadership forums.


Project Delivery



  • Oversee the technical aspects of major Salesforce projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Provide hands-on support for complex solution design and critical issue resolution.


Innovation



  • Explore and implement AI, automation, and next-generation Salesforce capabilities to drive innovation.
  • Identify emerging trends in Salesforce and recommend adoption strategies.
