Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Government X-Ray in Arlington, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you will monitor and patrol designated government locations to help maintain a secure environment. In this armed role, your strong presence and attention to detail will help to deter security-related incidents while fostering positive interactions with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate judgment and communication skills.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the designated government location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, trespassing, or other unwanted activity within and around the government facility.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to site procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Support site access control procedures, including verifying credentials and monitoring entry points as required by established policies.
  • Follow all site-specific and Allied Universal protocols regarding the handling and carrying of firearms at the location.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
