ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Engineer II is responsible for the support of functions related to construction management in the electrical construction industry. Projects may include performance of work for federal, state and municipal clients throughout the United States. The Project Engineer II assists with the preparation of plans, applicable specifications, and interfaces with and provides general project support to senior project management professionals. - Interpret applicable construction drawings and applicable specifications; update drawings as addendums are released
- Maintain accurate and updated set of construction As-Built drawings to be turned over to the owner at project completion
- May interpret issues in the field and/or contract documents to submit RFI's (Requests for Information)
- Assist with the review of plans and specifications and prepare a checklist of contract features which require periodic attention
- May generate agreements for subcontractors and vendors and manage agreement activities
- Assist with cost estimates and track change requests/change orders as required
- Ensure maintenance of accurate records - distribute pertinent and necessary information to field construction teams
- Assist with project scheduling as needed
- Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management and necessary daily and weekly reporting
- May be responsible to track and purchase materials, tools and equipment for construction
- Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements
- Inspect equipment, material, workmanship and finished construction
- Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and materials used conform to required specifications
- May create and submit closeout documentation, operation/maintenance manuals and As-Built drawings per contract specifications
- Other duties as assigned
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of experience in the construction process of electrical operations or general construction experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera at an intermediate or higher level
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think practically while remaining detail-oriented
- Operational knowledge in Bluebeam

- Salary
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
