STGi is currently seeking a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) to provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic.



JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) will be assigned to the Mental Health Service of the Hopkinsville VA clinic. The selected candidate will provide care management services to referred to include comprehensive assessments, referral management, watchful waiting, and care management for depression, among other important duties.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others.
* Consults with and serves as a resource for other professional personnel concerning the need for, evaluation of, and development of, psychological services.
* May be asked to assist in the selection, training, and supervision of staff at lower grades within assigned program area.
* Willingly accepts additional and special assignments that are necessary to meet program goals or Veteran needs.
* Completes all clinical charting and documentation required by the VA in a timely and accurate manner, as appropriate.
* Responsible for collaboration with PACT team for the provision of mental health services to enrolled and unassigned patients presenting for care.
* Assists in coordinating and implementing technology and training in regard to the use of telehealth across sites of care.
* Prepares timely summaries of collected data to the direct supervisor.
* Consult management duties as assigned.
* Support of unlicensed staff as assigned.
* May coordinate programming within both various mental health and primary care programs in coordination with managers of such programs as well as with discipline supervisors of affected
staff assigned to these programs.
* May be involved in research activities, especially as related to program evaluation responsibilities.
* May manage the work of various clinical programs and their staff, ensuring that work is assigned in a systematic way and meets STGi and VA guidelines/standards.
* May manage program monitors and outcome measurements within programs assigned using data driven quality assurance processes if assigned.
* Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
* Preferred 1-3 years of experience practicing Mental Health Counseling.
* Experience in an outpatient care environment is preferred.
* Current and unrestricted Kentucky license to independently practice mental health counseling, which includes diagnosis and treatment. Must comply will all state requirements and
regulations.
* Ability to set realistic, measurable education goals for patients, taking into consideration patient/family needs, level of understanding, and available local resources.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and excellent computer maneuverability.
* Must have exceptional diplomatic communication skills and experience in handling difficult patient situations.
* Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.

Required Experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
* Required Master degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field, from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
* Possess Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Training Network (MTN).



WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
* Required to respond to any medical emergency within the clinic, where a fast walk or job may be necessary to provide assistance.
