The Compliance Clerk is responsible for ensuring drivers are within compliance of DOT regulations and may safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Check emails for disqualification/re-qualifications of drivers and ensure out of compliance drivers do not operate a company vehicles
  • Check DOT logs from drivers and assist a driver with completing a log as needed
  • Check driver times for time clock errors and alert managers for corrections/updates on time punches
  • Advise drivers how many hours they have remaining to work to remain within DOT compliance
  • Sort and distribute work orders to the correct lines of business
  • Distribute keys and DVIR books to drivers as well as return them to correct places upon drivers' return
  • Check paperwork for errors and distribute paperwork requiring corrections back to appropriate department and sort/file remaining paperwork
  • Assist safety by relaying all reported incidents as well as escorting drivers to the safety department as needed
  • Assist maintenance by ensuring all vehicle write-ups are given to vehicle maintenance and keep an accurate list of vehicles downed for repair
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will not manage employees



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Must be able to work alone, under pressure, and communicate well with several employees reporting to the location each day
  • Must be proficient with computers
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as sorting and filing paperwork
  • Must be able to learn and understand safety regulations as needed



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • DOT hours of service regulation knowledge is a plus



Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:



  • Frequently lifting/carrying a max of 10 lbs
  • Rarely lifting/carrying a max of 35 lbs
  • Rarely stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Occasionally climbing and/or balancing
  • Frequently sitting/standing/walking



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
