THE SALVATION ARMY North and Central Illinois Division JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Food Pantry Aide LOCATION/DEPT: Peoria Food Programs REPORTS TO: Peoria Food Service &Warehouse Operations Manager works in coordination with the Lead Food Pantry Specialist. PEOPLE MANAGER: No FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt, Part Time. PAY GRADE: 201 PAY RATE: $15.75 - $18.53 Hourly WHO WE ARE At The Salvation Army, we are dedicated to "Doing the Most Good". JOB SUMMARY Provides support to Food Services & Warehouse Personnel in coordinating the distribution of food pantry services to the community. Assists in the distribution of food pantry services to the community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate daily assignments with the Lead Food Pantry Specialist to maintain efficient operations.
- Assist with the daily operations of the food pantry, provide crisis assistance with grocery & hygiene items to those in need, documenting as necessary.
- Keep the front desk presentable with up-to-date flyers.
- Complete and file intake paperwork and all necessary documents for clients, including data entry into the electronic system and SIMS database.
- Receive and document gift in kind (GIK) donations delivered to the warehouse.
- Assist with daily unloading, shelving, stocking, and storing of food donations and deliveries as needed for the food pantry.
- Communicate with Lead Food Pantry Specialist on items/supplies needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, including keeping client files organized and updated.
- Adhere to Health Department policies and procedures ensuring compliance.
- Maintain ongoing compliance in the Food Handler Serv Safe Certification.
- Complete CPR/ First Aid/ Blood Borne Pathogens Training.
- Perform other duties assigned related to Peoria Food and warehouse programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position will be required to do light to moderate physical work. Sometimes heavier.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment including a PC and potentially make public presentations/interactions.
- The work environment for this position includes a warehouse environment with moderate noise level.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- This position reports to the designated supervisor.
- In context related to this position's duties, this individual will interact with a wide range of contacts both internal and external. In these contacts he/she will act as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved. Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed. An evaluation of how effective service is provided. Performance will also be determined by outcome information provided during weekly staff meetings and monthly reports.
