About This Role

This Program Manager will be working at NBAF and will coordinate activities between NBAF and KSU joint projects.

Work involves a mixture of administrative and management responsibilities in finances, contract management, project management, education and outreach, recruitment, business affairs.

Develop and implement budgets, prepare reports for senior management, and ensure projects between NBAF and CEEZAD (Directed by Dr. Juergen Richt) comply with university polices. Improve the existing office procedures at NBAF for efficiency, effectiveness, and to ensure task completion with multiple joint projects between NBAF and KSU.


Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 4+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Working knowledge of forecasting and rolling budgets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel).
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Refined ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to key personnel.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of USDA NBAF financial systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance rules and regulations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (limited travel may be involved).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
