Payroll Specialist II

Job Purpose
The Payroll Specialist II independently manages core payroll activities with moderate complexity. This role ensures compliance with payroll policies, supports audits, and partners with HR and Finance to resolve payroll-related issues. The incumbent contributes to process improvements and serves as a point of contact for more complex employee inquiries.

Core Responsibilities
Note: This is not an all-inclusive listing.

  • Administer end-to-end payroll processing for assigned employee groups using ADP and UKG Kronos
  • Reconcile payroll data, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions with accuracy
  • Audit timekeeping data and validate compliance with federal and state labor laws
  • Respond to complex employee inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Support quarter-end and year-end reporting and tax filing processes
  • Generate payroll reports and assist with audit and compliance reviews
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency
  • Serve as a backup for other payroll team members as needed

  • Solid knowledge of payroll processes, wage laws, and tax compliance
  • Experience with ADP and UKG Kronos or comparable systems

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Education

  • Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll or accounting functions
