Job Summary

The Maricopa Promise Program Coordinator/Student Services Analyst Sr. (Short-Term) is responsible for the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Maricopa Promise Scholarship program. This role supports the full lifecycle of the program, from application development to eligibility determination, student communication, and data reporting.

The Maricopa Promise Program Coordinator/Student Services Analyst Sr. (Short-Term) is the liaison between internal departments and college teams, ensuring efficient program operations, compliance, and alignment with institutional goals. The position requires a combination of technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure students receive timely, accurate support and funding.

Essential Functions

35% - Application Development & Eligibility Determination:
  • Develops, maintains, and oversees the Maricopa Promise application process
  • Determines initial and ongoing student eligibility in alignment with program requirements and collaborates with relevant departments for verification

20% - Student Communication & Outreach:
  • Designs and implements a comprehensive communication strategy to guide students through the program
  • Ensures timely, accurate messaging regarding application status, eligibility, and next steps

15% - Internal Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Acts as the primary liaison to colleges and internal departments, providing regular updates, addressing inquiries, and supporting consistent program implementation across the district

15% - Award Processing & Coordination:
  • Communicates award decisions to Financial Aid. Ensures accurate and timely processing of awards, mirroring best practices from similar programs like Phoenix Promise

15% - Data Reconciliation & Reporting:
  • Conducts ongoing reconciliation of program data, ensuring financial and operational accuracy
  • Prepares regular reports on participation, funding, and outcomes to support institutional decision-making


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and four years of progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years of experience coordinating student programs, scholarships, or financial aid processes within a higher education institution or similar setting.
  • Two (2) or more years of proficiency in using student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft), CRM tools, or web-based application platforms.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in developing and executing student communication plans across email, SMS, and other platforms.
  • Two (2) or more years of demonstrated ability to analyze data, perform reconciliations, and generate clear, actionable reports.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project management certification

  • Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment.
  • May be required to sit for a long period of time, viewing a computer monitor
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends
  • This position may travel to a variety of locations on and off campus as needed to conduct District or College business.
  • Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://business.maricopa.edu/risk-management/motor-vehicle-usage/motor-vehicle-driving-requirements In order to drive a Maricopa vehicle during an in-person meeting/session or visit. Candidate is able to drive their own vehicle if preferred, but Maricopa does not reimburse for travel, insurance, maintenance, or other vehicle expenses.


Virtual/Hybrid Work Schedule:
  • This position is afforded to work virtually, in a hybrid, and in the office.
  • Position is located at the Maricopa Community Colleges' Wood Street location, 4110 E. Wood Street, Phoenix, AZ 85040.
  • Office laptop, keyboard, mouse, and 2 monitors are provided via employee equipment loan agreement with a docking station to facilitate working in the office and remotely.
  • Remote work requires a dedicated workspace with few distractions and interruptions, and reliable internet services.
  • Office equipment is the property of the Maricopa Community Colleges and must be returned upon assignment completion.
  • Hours of operation are 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with varied schedules within these hours.
  • May be required to work on-site, hybrid, or at home.
  • Technology (computer, monitors, mouse, keyboard, etc.) will be provided for work from home, but the candidate must have reliable internet.
  • Other workspace requirements (desks, chairs, etc.) are not provided by the Maricopa Community Colleges.
