Associate Cyber Security Engineer

We have an opportunity for a an Associate Security Engineer to join our Product Security Engineering team in Tacoma, WA. In this hybrid role, the Associate Security Engineer will help protect Infoblox and our customers from cyber threats, working alongside a dynamic team of security engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as DevOps and Application Development. This role involves participating in large-scale projects through hands-on use of security tools, conducting security reviews, and driving optimization efforts. The position also offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, cloud platforms like AWS, and opportunities to work on security automation. It's a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in product security while contributing to impactful, real-world initiatives.

Be a Contributor - What You'll Do



  • Collaborate with senior security engineers to assess and strengthen the security posture of Infoblox products
  • Conduct security reviews, develop threat models, and contribute to security automation initiatives
  • Draft security standards, document controls, respond to customer product security inquiries, and assist with compliance audit preparation
  • Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard security tools and technologies
  • Assist in the deployment and integration of new security tools
  • Participate in the development and execution of an Incident Response tabletop exercise
  • You will work with the following technologies: Kubernetes, Containers, AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI, SAST, DAST, SIEM, EDR, CWPP, Serverless Functions, CSPM, CNAPP, WAF, etc.



Be Prepared - What You Bring



  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages; experience with GoLang is a plus
  • Solid understanding of information security principles and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, web applications, and software security concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clear documentation
  • A passion for continuous learning and applying security best practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required



Be Successful - Your Path

First 90 Days: Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals.

Six months: Understand the scope of products and services requiring security controls, help respond to customer inquiries on Infoblox's product security, participate in security enablement projects and learn current processes and identify opportunities for automation

One year: Own and manage a security tool within the Product Security Engineering team, actively participate in security assessments, Incident Response tabletop exercises, and on-call rotations.
