RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS), a business unit of RTI International, is an independent and internationally recognized research organization. We provide healthcare consulting and research expertise to optimize decision-making for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products across the development and marketing life cycle. Clients rely on our expertise, quality standards, and integrity to guide their product development and regulatory and market access strategies. Our service groupings include Value and Access (HEVA), and HEOR; Patient-Centered and Outcomes Research; Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Medical Communications; Global Business Operations; and Strategic Consulting and Growth. We are seeking an experienced Procurement leader to design and execute a strategic sourcing and vendor management program that enables growth, efficiency, and value creation across RTI-HS's global operations.


What You'll Do

This role will directly influence how we engage with our vendor ecosystem. ensuring scalability, compliance, and operational excellence in support of our real-world evidence, health economics, and outcomes research initiatives.

Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop and implement a forward-looking vendor and sourcing strategy aligned with RTI-HS's organizational goals and client commitments.
  • Lead procurement activities supporting data acquisition, technology platforms, consulting partnerships, and site operations.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across scientific, operational, and business teams to design sourcing approaches that optimize quality, timelines, and cost.
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, performance metrics, and reporting systems that promote transparency, efficiency, and alignment with internal controls and sponsor expectations.
  • Support contract negotiations in collaboration with Legal, ensuring favorable terms, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding and performance, promoting strong relationships, ethical practices, and adherence to RTI's high quality standards.
  • Analyze trends to identify opportunities for vendor consolidation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations to ensure enterprise-wide alignment across systems and reporting.
  • Lead and develop a small team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (CPSM, CIPS, PMP) preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or strategic role within life sciences or contract research organizations (CROs).
  • Proven success transforming procurement into a strategic, value-adding function within research or healthcare settings.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across diverse technical and scientific disciplines.
  • Experience in contract management, supplier governance, and compliance frameworks within regulated industries.
  • Global vendor management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change leadership

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is merely one element to our offer.
