ABOUT THE JOB

Join a dynamic HR team as a Compensation Analyst where your expertise will drive impactful change. This is not a routine or off-the-shelf position -- it's a strategic opportunity to assess current compensation frameworks and lead transformative improvements. We're seeking an individual who understands and can apply industry best practices.

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering compensation programs that support the organization's objectives and ensure competitive, equitable pay practices. This role involves data analysis, market research, and collaboration with HR and management to create compensation structures that attract, motivate, and retain talent.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE




  • Conducts and analyzes salary surveys and benchmark data to determine competitive compensation levels.
  • Evaluates and recommends compensation adjustments based on market trends, internal equity, and organizational budget.
  • Assists in the design, implementation, and administration of base pay, incentive, and bonus programs.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
  • Prepares reports and presentations for HR leadership and management regarding compensation analyses and recommendations.
  • Supports annual compensation review cycles, including merit increases, promotions, and market adjustments.
  • Maintains compensation data within HRIS systems and ensures data integrity.
  • Collaborates with HR staff, including Talent Acquisition, to advise on compensation offers and practices.
  • Responds to employee and management inquiries regarding compensation policies and practices.
  • Stays current on compensation trends and best practices.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or SHRM-CP/SCP is preferred.
  • Two years' experience in compensation analysis or related HR role within a corporate environment required.
  • Experience in using compensation software and data visualization tools is required.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • Proficiency in computer skills is essential, including a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Expertise in Excel and HRIS systems is required.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of compensation laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, Equal Pay Act).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Travel by various means up to 10% of the time is required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.



Successful completion of a drug screen and background check is required for all positions at Helena.



WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
