What to Expect
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Program Manager to lead the development and oversight of a comprehensive regulatory compliance program for our service and collision centers across North America, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This role will ensure all centers adhere to federal, state/provincial, county, and local regulations related to vehicle repairs, such as painting, battery replacement, welding, hazardous waste disposal, chemical handling, tire mounting/balancing, and more. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader capable of building frameworks, delivering training, and conducting audits to mitigate risks and promote a culture of compliance. This position involves collaboration with regional managers and local teams.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain a centralized compliance program outlining all applicable federal, state/provincial, county, and local regulations for service/collision centers, including OSHA safety standards, EPA environmental regulations, DOT regulations as applicable, customer signage requirements, staff continuing professional education (CPE) mandates, and other relevant rules
- Establish a tailored framework of regulations and controls for each service/collision center, accounting for jurisdictional differences across the US, Canada, and Mexico
- Design and deliver periodic education and training sessions for leadership, managers, and staff to ensure understanding and adherence to compliance requirements
- Collaborate with regional managers and local service/collision teams to identify, document, and implement lists of requirements and controls, fostering ongoing compliance
- Initiate, distribute, and collect semi-annual or annual compliance questionnaires from each service/collision center, enabling self-attestation and identifying potential gaps
- Plan and conduct periodic on-site audits to verify compliance, document findings, and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Monitor regulatory changes in North America and update the program accordingly to maintain proactive risk management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance inquiries, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - CCEP, or OSHA/Environmental Compliance certifications) preferred, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or a similar role, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, or service industry
- Proven expertise in multi-jurisdictional regulations, including US federal/state laws (e.g., OSHA, EPA), Canadian provincial regulations, and Mexican federal/local standards relevant to vehicle repair and environmental safety
- Experience developing and implementing compliance programs, including training, audits, and attestation processes
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair regulations, such as those governing hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, worker safety, and customer protections
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train diverse teams and collaborate across regions
- Proficiency in compliance management tools, databases, or software (e.g., for tracking regulations or audit reporting), familiarity with North American legal research resources is a plus.
- Ability to travel frequently for on-site audits (up to 20 - 30% as needed travel across North America)
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/French) are highly desirable to support operations in Mexico and Canada
