Overview
At CAES Mission Systems, Woburn MA, the Sr. Manager Production Test will perform a lead role managing a team of Test Technicians. This individual will work with the Manufacturing Test Technicians to ensure that tasks scheduled for the day are completed and that difficulties are dealt with in a timely manner. This individual will also support the manufacturing organization as an individual contributor by performing tests on RF circuits and setup and troubleshooting of RF systems under test.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Assemblers, Operators and/or RF Microwave Test Technicians, leading product output and quality by reviewing and assisting in the implementation of test methods and procedures for RF assemblies and subassemblies and associated equipment, including test software, recommending as necessary changes both to maintain and advance testing capability.
- Conduct daily cell meetings to review output, goals, yield, and production related issues and communicate results to site management.
- Remove roadblocks by identifying appropriate test methods, equipment, test fixtures, test procedures and test software.
- Provide leadership in RF test and tuning of existing and newly developed products and standard production testing. Troubleshooting and repairing RF systems to subsystem and component levels. Troubleshoot non-working boards and systems; repairs; modifications and testing of electronic boards.
- Maintain documentation in appropriate process / product documents.
- Create reports on test data, output and yield. Use this data to analyze trends and report unfavorable trends.
- Support completion of assembly operations to meet delivery expectations.
- Identify ways to continuously improve current production processes, including: driving lean manufacturing; visual controls; standard work; and problem solving methods.
- Follow applicable Company quality procedures, placing critical focus on strictly following documented procedures, double-checking work, error-proofing processes
- Ensure 5S practices are implemented and sustained within work areas.
- Ensure Safety, Health and Environment compliance is part of every day activities.
- Participate in staff selection, performance management, coaching, training, employee development, while ensuring compliance to legal and company requirements.
- Develop good cross-functional collaboration between engineering; quality; planning; and other support groups.
- Coordinates and drives the development of lean manufacturing principles.
- Lead cross functional teams to develop and improve business processes.
- Coach teams to manage for daily performance using visual controls.
- Mentor using Gemba walks.
- Coach employees to see abnormal conditions and problem solve systematically.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 6-8 years' experience in the leadership of a team of technical professionals
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in a related field
- 4-5 years' experience in the leadership of a team of technical professionals
- Previous experience in Supervisory / Managerial role, directly assessing skills and performance of technical team members.
- Manufacturing experience with RF electronics; strongly preferred is experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry.
- Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt Certification.
- Basic soldering skills.
- Ability to work extra hours.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Active SECRET clearance.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification.

Salary Range: Sr. Manager - Production Test - $133,947.39 - $207,319.85 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
