Position Summary The Operations Support Coordinator is accountable for meeting and exceeding Company goals as part of the operations leadership team. This role has primary responsibility to drive and support team members at all levels to document, learn, understand, and follow standard operating procedures and drive continuous improvement using established improvement processes. This position is critical in supporting the entire operations support team. From production associates through to the engineering team, and the managers of operations support. Responsibilities
- Initiate and support continuous improvement, elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement techniques.
- Improve yield and customer satisfaction, lower costs, and reduce the number of corrective actions. Assist in implementation of productivity improvements.
- Cross train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities, which ensures that operations can continue to meet the expectations even with daily fluctuations in staffing.
- Build and maintain a high-performance team environment and coach others in effective team interaction and function.
- Coach and train new team members. Re-train experienced members to assist in sustainability.
- Document and monitor procedures and processes to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge. Play a key role in the document control process.
- Support, understand, and coach others in understanding and use of lean and the AMS program and tools.
- Train production associates in standard operating procedures for initial training and ongoing training to eliminate non-conformances.
- Define and deliver training programs designed to create a lean culture with production associates.
- Work with operations support and safety team members to ensure consistent company-wide safety programs implementation and sustainability.
- Ensure that the work environment is clean and safe.
- Actively participate on the safety committee.
- Significant Functions in Addition of above Responsibilities to Guide, Maintain and Support the Operation Support Team:
- Driver or Backup Driver = Prepares the room; runs the computer program and all supporting documents for Team
- Gatekeeper = Runs overall program for 15 different programs
- Maintain = Keep all programs, documentation and costs up to date
- Support = Give assistance to all of operations support
Personal Attributes and Experience
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent manufacturing or quality experience. Leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous Lean Manufacturing, six sigma green belt or black belt training and/or certification extremely desirable.
- Ability and willingness to lead and motivate others in a positive manner, including coaching others to follow work instructions, achieve standards and reach team goals.
- Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures.
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, work, and develop others in a team environment.
- Sensitive to other cultures and backgrounds, able to work in a multi-cultural workplace.
- Strong verbal and written communication and people skills.
- Strong skills in leadership, communication, initiative, decisiveness, and planning and organization.
- Must be willing to service the entire organization while providing primary duties to the assigned facility.
Work Environment This job is primarily performed in an office environment. The noise level in the office is generally moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with individuals on the plant floor, near moving mechanical parts.
