GENERAL SUMMARY: PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 2. *Balances and reconciles earnings and deduction totals; processes retroactive wage adjustments. 3. *Calculates adjustments to previous checks. 4. *Reviews and verifies validity of information received for payroll processing from other departments. 5. Reports wages to mortgage companies and government agencies. 6. Provides payroll information to other departments and/or employees as needed. 7. Reviews Employee Reimbursement Requests for accuracy and compliance, and includes these payments with the payroll processing 8. Processes vouchers for Accounts Payable checks for employees with returned payroll direct deposits 9. *Inspects automated system output such as registers and standard reports. 10. *Determines and corrects out of balance conditions. 11. *Calculates wage and overtime payments and payroll deductions. 12. Assists with the processing of manual checks as needed. 13. *Checks and audits timekeeping records for compliance with established standards by Wage and Hour Administration and Medical Center policies. 14. *Maintains time and attendance records. 15. *Posts and maintains employee W-4 and Direct Deposit information. 16. *Processes and maintains wage garnishments, levies, child support orders and jury duty pay according to legal requirements. 17. *Maintains, reconciles, and processes payment vouchers for payment to internal and/or external vendors. 18. Provides time and attendance training for Managers and employees. 19. Assists as needed with audits associated with payroll information. 20. Assists with installation and/or upgrades of payroll related computer software. 21. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 22. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 23. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. (Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk "*"). REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 3. Knowledge of customer service philosophies and practices. 4. Skill in operating a personal computer, and general office equipment. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. 7. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills. 8. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. 9. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. 10. Ability to analyze problems, identify priorities and implement effective work strategies. 11. Ability to work effectively with frequent deadlines and conflicting priorities. 12. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
