The Human Resources Specialist is the main point of contact for all onboarding, employee communications, HRIS, apprentices, problem resolution, and Human Resources related issues. The HR Specialist is responsible for managing onboarding and maintaining accurate employee records. This includes processing employee status changes and supporting pre-boarding and onboarding for up to 30 new hires per week.

DUTIES & SCOPE:



  • Lead and manage pre-boarding and orientation processes for new hires.
  • Manage onboarding for up to 30 new hires per week.
  • Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policies.
  • Process employee status changes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure data integrity by reconciling and validating entries in the HRIS.
  • Administer performance management practices, including performance reviews and assessments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee communications and HR-related inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Promote a positive employee experience through consistent communication and problem-solving.
  • Propose and help administer personnel policies and procedures.
  • Escalate employee issues appropriately while maintaining confidentiality.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field. Relevant coursework may include business, accounting, human resource management, professional writing, psychology, and industrial relations.


Experience:



  • Minimum of 3 years as a Human Resources Specialist or Coordinator.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry or a similar field is preferred.
  • Prior experience with E-Verify, including resolving alerts, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with UKG or other HR software systems.
  • Strong background in customer service and employee support.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong self-awareness and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Ability to plan, organize, and administer HR programs and initiatives
  • Capable of handling confidential matters and escalating issues appropriately



The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $28.00 and $32.00 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
