About the Department

The Radiology Department provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging services, including mammography, to support accurate medical diagnoses while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. Our mammography technologists play a key role in delivering exceptional breast imaging care that supports early detection and ongoing women's health.

Mission for Position

To provide compassionate, high-quality mammography imaging that supports accurate breast health diagnoses and contributes to Lakewood's mission of providing personalized, quality healthcare for a lifetime.

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams in accordance with departmental protocols and MQSA/ACR regulations.
  • Ensure quality assurance of mammography equipment, including daily quality control checks and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and ACR accreditation requirements.
  • Educate patients on mammography procedures, positioning, and breast self-awareness with compassion and sensitivity.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists, providers, and nursing staff to ensure accurate results and timely follow-up.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain certification and stay current in breast imaging technology.
  • Manage imaging data through PACS and maintain accurate exam documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming imaging environment.


Position Type

This is a casual position assisting with coverage during the varied day schedule - Monday through Friday; 7:00am - 5:00pm. No weekend or holiday rotation required.

Qualifications

Qualifications



  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (24-month course or equivalent).
  • ARRT (R) and (M) certified
  • Maintain CEUs as required by ARRT and MQSA.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
