As theNational Account Manager - Distributors & Grocery at tru fru, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and fostering deep customer partnerships. You will lead the development and execution of strategic plans that deliver exceptional sales results and customer value. Your leadership will be critical in managing a broker team and a future direct report, ensuring flawless execution and alignment with company goals.

What you'll do



  • Lead and manage distributor relationships including UNFI, KEHE, C&S, Spartan Nash, and select grocery retailers such as Albertsons/Safeway, HyVee, Schnucks, Sprouts, SEG, etc.
  • Develop and implement consistent distributor strategies and processes that align with company objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing broker team and a future direct report to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Create clear, actionable customer plans that can be shared and executed by the broker team.
  • Drive flawless execution of sales strategies including contract negotiations, demand forecasting, trade expenditure management, and new item launches.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure sales plans are financially viable and operationally sound.
  • Utilize strong negotiation skills to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes with various stakeholders.
  • Regularly assess progress against KPIs to ensure brokers and team members remain motivated and focused on delivering exceptional results.
  • Develop simplified Digital Commerce strategy with a focus on key fundamentals.
  • Build and communicate compelling sales stories that are templated but customizable for brokers as needed.
  • Set the foundation and vision for the sales team, defining roles, responsibilities, and growth plans including onboarding a future direct report.
  • Forecast demand and manage trade expenditure effectively to support business objectives.

You have...



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Sales function, with >2 years of distributor experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, collaboration, analytical, and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Demonstrated category and shopper acumen.
  • Financial acumen and experience in managing a customer P&L
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and expand market share.


Pluses



  • Master's degree in Business Administration
  • Experience with Trade Promotions Systems (TPM/SRM)

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs.
