Overview
Web Developer Associate LOCATION: Remote JOB STATUS: Part-time CERTIFICATION: N/A Astrion is seeking a Part-Time Web Developer Associate to support NASA's Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program and data visualization for NASAs Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission. The Web Developer associate supports technical aspects of an organization's internet web application/site suite and associated database development, technical programming, uploading content, and daily operations. Ensures all products developed are secure and free of known vulnerabilities. Works with multimedia specialists to develop security compliance, interface design and website architecture. Investigates system errors, performs backups, and ensures user accessibility and site performance. Support efforts to maintain web site vulnerability testing tools to evaluate development, test, and production page implementations. Support efforts to validate consistent operational functionality of the site components across multiple browser platforms RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will support sustaining engineering activities for the operation and backup of the GLOBE system including gathering, documenting, and developing new requirements from GLOBE users feedback, Technology Working Group, GLOBE sponsors and supporters (NASA, NSF, NOAA, and State Department), and in collaboration with NASA/GSFC, as well as improving the configuration and settings of the DIS development, hosting and backup environments for a better international user experience of the GLOBE Site. In addition, the successful candidate will also provide computer support enabling the design, development, integration, test, and sustaining engineering of Code 670/673 science and engineering data visualization applications; Provide computer support enabling the design, development, integration, test, and sustaining engineering of Code 670/673 ground systems; Attend meetings as required by Code 670/673 management; and, Document individual lab tasks via the established Code 670/673 laboratory ticketing system.
