POSITION SUMMARY

The Overhaul Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and complete overhauls on a wide variety of ground support equipment used in aviation operations. This position requires strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to restore equipment to manufacturer specifications and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Compensation:
$21-$33 per hour, plus incentive pay for ASE certifications held or earned.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm working in an aviation ground support equipment overhaul facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned and are not limited to the following)

  • Performs complete teardowns, overhauls, and rebuilds of GSE units such as tractors, belt loaders, ground power units (GPUs), air conditioning units, deicers, and other airport support equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components on GSE units.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with OEM standards and company procedures.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues on GSE units.
  • Conduct final inspections and perform functional testing after major repairs or overhauls.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed in the company's maintenance management system (CMMS/EAM).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other mechanics as needed.
  • Operate GSE units safely and maintain a clean, organized work area.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma or equivalent required, technical certification in mechanics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in GSE maintenance or heavy equipment/automotive repair.
  • Strong knowledge of engine repair (diesel & gas), hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience with CMMS systems for work order management.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and maintenance best practices.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Familiarity with the use of repair manuals, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics (electrical and hydraulic) necessary to troubleshoot and/or repair failed components.
  • Additional skills such as automotive mechanical background or millwright experience preferred. GSE experience is a plus.

Additional Information

  • Must provide and maintain personal tools and toolboxes necessary for performing assigned duties in accordance with AES standards.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in United States
  • Willing to travel occasionally for training or support needs.
  • Overtime or weekend shifts may be required based on operational needs.
