About the Opportunity:

This role will implement the programmes as designed by the CNC programmer to manufacture components to customer specifications and prescripted aircraft standards on the CNC Machines.

Location: Stuart, Florida - Onsite Role.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
  • Perform CNC operations using a variety of different machines - including lathes, milling, and Laser equipment.
  • Understand, interpret and work to Engineering drawings and to work to tight tolerances.
  • Provide methods and technical support to other members of the team wherever necessary.
  • Develop tooling solutions for both cutting and fixturing as needed.
  • Working in conjunction with the manufacturing engineers and CNC programmer, operate the CNC to meet the daily production targets.
  • Produce and edit NC programs via the machine control and/or ISO code.
  • Ensure that full documentation is kept up to date detailing the CNC path, featuring and tooling information.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Contribute new ideas and positive support to the current processes by improving productivity.
  • Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues utilising root cause and analysis tools.
  • Sharing knowledge and experience and support coaching and mentoring to new employees and apprentices.
  • Support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives across Shop Operations. (I.e. Yellow Belt LEAN Manufacturing, 6S initiatives, cost reductions, housekeeping)
  • To carry out any other duties that may be necessary to meet departmental objectives.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Team Player with the ability to work alone and use own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Experience with cutter grind machines preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience of manufacturing with CNC equipment and controls
  • Previous CNC Machining experience
  • Previous experience on Mazatrol/Shop Mill controls would be a distinct advantage
  • Flexible approach to working various shift patterns
  • Willingness to be trained across departments, supporting flexible working requirements

Working Conditions:

  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Must be able to pass an eye exam on an annual basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
