Multi Asset Solutions (MAS) is a multi-asset class investing group that sits within the Asset Management Division at Goldman Sachs. It designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives and relevant constraints of clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset and liability-hedging portfolio design and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the MAS team. Within MAS we have built the #1 Outsourced CIO (OCIO) platform which delivers total portfolio solutions and customized portfolios across asset allocation, portfolio and risk management, and trading to large institutional investors. Our platform leads the most complex transactions in the OCIO space with the largest and most sophisticated institutions across the globe. MAS invests assets for some of the world's leading corporations, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, insurers, healthcare systems, endowments, and foundations.

The successful candidate would become a member of the Lead Portfolio Management (LPM) team within the OCIO platform, predominantly working on strategic initiatives expected to grow and deliver the business. These initiatives may include business development, client engagement, OCIO acquisitions, lift outs or other large scale onboardings of assets, solution design and delivery and platform efficiency. The candidate would work directly with senior portfolio managers and business leadership and be responsible for contributing to the design as well as the management and delivery of the identified strategic initiatives. This role cuts across investing, business management, proposal design, operational efficiency, deal structuring, and integration.

Core responsibilities include:



  • Driving the process behind large-scale OCIO transactions from pitches to execution
  • Leading day-to-day delivery of identified strategic initiatives
  • Preparing materials and analysis for internal and external senior stakeholders
  • Identifying and designing platform enhancements across client acquisition, investing, operations, and project management



Other required skills/experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field
  • Significant strategy, banking, asset management, or other relevant experience
  • Experience leading discussions, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience leading and multi-tasking across internal and external projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with buy-side transactions, due-diligence, and process execution
  • Experience building / maintaining models, industry / company / benchmarking materials, and other process documents
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous, with strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Intelligent, creative, with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of portfolio investment metrics and characteristics (including that of multi-asset and liability-hedging portfolios)
  • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint, including creating and providing detailed review of bespoke data analysis and presentations
  • Actuarial designation a plus
  • CFA designation a plus


Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
