About Our Team

Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to lead the creation of high-impact motion content that elevates how we tell stories across product launches, executive narratives, and brand campaigns. This role is ideal for a seasoned motion expert who can translate complex ideas into compelling video and animation, bringing strategic clarity, design polish, and visual energy to every project.
As a senior contributor, you will partner closely with design, marketing, and product teams to define motion direction, guide storytelling structure, and execute motion graphics that support both customer-facing and internal initiatives.

Location: This role will join us at our downtown Chicago, IL office or our Morrisville, NC office location on a hybrid schedule; 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and production of motion content for campaigns, launches, and executive communications.
  • Translate briefs, scripts, and product messaging into engaging animated narratives and sizzle reels.
  • Define motion direction and collaborate on concept development with designers, marketers, and stakeholders.
  • Create scalable animated assets, templates, and motion systems that reflect Lenovo's brand identity.
  • Partner with internal video and design teams to ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Support occasional live-action production needs, including directing, filming, or sourcing footage for internal demos or customer facing content.
  • Mentor junior motion designers and provide design feedback during reviews.
  • Adapt and optimize content for multiple formats including digital, social, event, and internal channels.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in motion design, animation, and video production.

  • Available portfolio featuring UI or digital product interface animations created for brand marketing, including: Demo sequences, feature walkthroughs, or interface visualizations used in campaign or launch content.
  • Expertise in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, or other standard motion software (e.g. Cinema 4d, Blender).
  • Experience collaborating with creative, product, and marketing teams in a fast-paced shipping environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in standard tools like Adobe CC, Lottie, Framer, and Figma.

  • Expertise in 3D software such as Cinema 4D, Blender, or Maya.

  • Expertise in a range of 3D & 2D animation techniques, and a portfolio of work to showcase thes.e

  • Sound editing or music selection capabilities for video production.

  • Ability to work in Figma and contribute to visual design or asset integration workflows that feature UI interfaces.

  • Experience in consumer tech, enterprise hardware, or innovation-driven brand storytelling.

  • Strong storytelling instincts with a refined eye for pacing, typography, and brand tone.

  • Ability to lead motion workflows from concept to final delivery with minimal oversight.

  • Ability to create and maintain a set of motion brand guidelines.

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $125,000 - $160,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
