About This Position *Must be available to work some weekends and holidays* $1000 Bonus 8:30am to 5pm The Food Service Manager plans, directs and coordinates the activities associated with running a single site, stand-alone food service operation in a facility with only one kitchen and less than 1,000 inmates/beds. This position oversees the operational and financial responsibilities for the kitchen and supervises a team of Food Service Workers and/or Cooks who are involved with the preparation, serving and clean-up of food in a secure correctional facility. Our ideal Food Service Manager excels at the following: Passionate about food and service Has a solid understanding of food handling regulations Desire to always learn more Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly Dependable and flexible to ensure operation and service continues without interruption Ability to manage food production cost and service planning A strong leader and coach Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Supervises food service workers, which may include inmate labor, in the daily preparation of meals for assigned unit. Conducts daily open and close inspections of all areas within assigned unit. Performs weekly inventory and replenishes stock by completing order requirements. Train all new food service workers on standard operating procedures and company policies Schedules workers to insure effective performance of unit food service production. Insures ordering and all required reports are completed accurately and on time. Ensures that food items are stored in a safe and hazard free manner. Ensures that food items are stored in a safe and hazard free manner. Responsible for overseeing all preventive maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the Program. Manages food service operation in compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as required local, state and federal laws and regulations. Maintain all serving schedules, ensure that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner according to departmental guidelines Maintain a sanitary environment following food service and Health Department codes and regulations. Other duties as determined by the needs of the business. What You'll Need High school diploma or Equivalent, and you must be at least 18 years of age. ServSafe certification.
