Community Relations Manager

Nexus Family Healing is looking to hire a Community Relations Manager to join our wonderful Marketing and Communications team! We are seeking a passionate and proactive individual to strengthen our organization's relationships with the local communities we serve. This role will include grassroots outreach and canvassing efforts to build awareness, foster trust and deepen engagement with community members, partners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about connecting with people face-to-face, attending local events and representing Nexus Family Healing in a variety of community settings.

Position Summary: Our Community Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies that strengthen the organization's relationships with the community, enhance its public image, and support its mission and values. This role involves building partnerships, managing outreach programs, coordinating events, and serving as a liaison between the organization and community stakeholders.

Schedule/Pay:

• Full-time hybrid work opportunity: on the road, in person and remote

• Salary range: $75,000-85,000 annually

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Develop external community engagement opportunities.
• Recommends and supports leadership presence in the community.
• Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, nonprofits, schools, and government agencies.
• Plan and execute community events, sponsorships, and volunteer initiatives.
• Represent and/or ensure representation of the organization at community meetings, public forums, and networking events.
• Manage internal communication messaging and collaborate with internal teams to align with community efforts and marketing initiatives.
• Participates and executes on Nexus-wide MarCom activities as assigned.
• Ensures confidentiality regarding all organizational business, residents' medical backgrounds, and treatment issues per HIPAA guidelines.
• Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

Required Education and Licensure:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in community relations, external communications, public relations, corporate communications or a similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience developing communication campaigns
• Experience planning and managing events and outreach programs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
• Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Knowledge of the local Manteno/Kankakee communities and key stakeholders
