Job Summary

The Credit Department Assistant/Analyst supports the Credit Department in processing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills to ensure efficient operations and positive client relationships. The role reports directly to the Senior Credit Manager. The position is temp-to-hire, with initial hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch) Monday through Friday, transitioning to 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (one-hour lunch) upon permanent hire.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive and process customer payments, including cash, checks, and electronic transfers.
  • Reconcile accounts by comparing and matching invoices, payments, and financial data to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in account information.
  • Conduct light collections activities for overdue accounts and assist with pursuing outstanding balances.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on accounts receivable aging and customer account status.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support credit and financial processes.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders to maintain positive relationships.


Job Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and summation.
  • Professional demeanor and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to learn quickly, ask questions, and work independently while providing updates to the Credit Manager.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and across departments.
  • Prior background in credit or accounts receivable preferred.
  • Demonstrated stable and professional work history.


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
