Job Summary

The Material Handler I supports production operations by efficiently and accurately moving materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse and production areas. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting materials while maintaining accurate records and ensuring all transactions are entered correctly into company systems. The Material Handler I plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment and contributes to overall production quality and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate various material handling equipment, including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and dollies.
  • Receive and put away inbound deliveries, ensuring materials are stored in correct locations.
  • Pick, stage, and issue materials for production jobs accurately and on time.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks, trailers, and outside carriers safely and efficiently.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Record inventory transactions and material movements in company systems with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Inspect completed parts for quality and make necessary adjustments to meet standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area that complies with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within warehouse and production operations.


Job Requirements

  • Stand-up forklift experience is required; candidates without prior experience will not be considered.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in transactions and inventory control.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet daily operational goals.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, reliability, and workplace safety.


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Work Experience

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency operating a stand-up forklift required; certification preferred.


Additional Job Details (COVID, Commute, Attendance, etc.)

  • This position is full-time, 1st shift, located in Worcester, MA.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to meet production demands.
  • Safety shoes and other required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
