Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing courteous and professional service in a clinical setting. This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring all processes follow established safety and procedural standards. The PSR I builds patient trust through clear communication, accurate work, and a compassionate approach.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily specimen collection and processing duties accurately and efficiently under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection following established practices and procedures.
- Verify and document patient identification and specimen labeling accurately.
- Maintain all required records, logs, and documentation in compliance with company standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism, organizational commitment, and a positive attitude toward patients, clients, and coworkers.
Job Requirements
- Ability to perform high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
- Minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience required; one or more years preferred.
- Prior experience in a customer service, retail, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency required.

- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position.
- This position is not eligible for remote work and follows a Monday-Friday, 5:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. schedule with rotational Saturdays.
- Work location is in Florida; candidates must reside within a 20-25 minute commute of the site.
- Reliable personal transportation is required; public or rideshare options (e.g., bus, Uber) are not considered reliable for this role.
- Candidates must arrive on time, complete full shifts, and maintain consistent attendance; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination.
