Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the first point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and compassion. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood draws, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and accuracy standards. The PSR I fosters trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly, ensuring patient comfort, and upholding confidentiality at all times. This position supports the organization's commitment to process excellence and patient-centered care under the direction of the area supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Collect both forensic and clinical specimens following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient identification, demographics, and labeling to ensure specimen accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment through reliability, attention to detail, and high-quality service delivery.
- Support training and continuous improvement initiatives as directed.
Job Requirements
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; not required in Florida (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
- Minimum of six months of phlebotomy experience required; one or more years preferred.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
- Data entry and keyboarding experience required.

- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position.
- This position is not eligible for remote work and is based onsite in Florida.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with rotational weekends (7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.).
- Candidates must have reliable personal transportation; public or rideshare options (e.g., bus, Uber) are not considered reliable for this role.
- Candidates must reside within a 20-25 minute commute of the assigned worksite.
- Consistent and punctual attendance is required. Excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination.
- Candidates must list their home city and commute time on their resume for consideration.
- Pay rate is based on years of directly related experience as documented on the resume (overlapping roles are not counted twice).
