Job Summary

The SMT Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to produce high-quality electronic assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position focuses on precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The SMT Operator will work with MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick-and-place equipment and perform setup, operation, inspection, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal production performance.

Job Responsibilities




  • Operate, set up, and maintain MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick-and-place SMT equipment



  • Perform SMT production tasks, including component placement, soldering, and visual inspection of electronic assemblies



  • Conduct minor troubleshooting and adjustments to equipment to maintain consistent quality and output



  • Follow established manufacturing procedures and quality standards to ensure defect-free production



  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, deadlines, and performance targets



  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles



  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and enhance efficiency



  • Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) practices



  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations promptly to the appropriate personnel




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an SMT Operator required



  • Hands-on experience with MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick-and-place equipment strongly preferred



  • Strong understanding of SMT processes, including soldering, reflow, inspection, and component handling



  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documentation



  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a high-volume manufacturing environment



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work



  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification in electronics manufacturing preferred




Work Schedule




  • Second shift position based in Oldsmar, FL



  • Must be available to work assigned shift hours and occasional overtime as required by production needs
