THE VALUE YOU'LL BRING

As a Career Foundation Program Associate in Marketing, you'll leverage data metrics to develop methods that strategically maximize the profitability of specific brand categories in our business. Representing Smithfield, Eckrich, Nathan's Famous, or any of our other brands, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, from sales to business management, to deliver the best products to our customers and consumers. Your role will focus on building sound business recommendations, creating marketing materials, and identifying opportunities that support brand and category growth. You'll love the dynamic environment and the chance to work on impactful projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist the marketing department with the creation of marketing materials and plans

  • Collect data on new markets and assist in the creation of market development plans

  • Develop an integrated brand image and message across advertising, packaging, and promotional efforts

  • Support the execution of category strategy via event, digital, and trade marketing tactics

  • Coordinate marketing activities for one or more markets, brands, or product/category lines

  • Gather data on existing or potential customers, competitors, or market segments for targeted marketing strategies

  • Measure and analyze results to determine ROI

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Agencies, and Business Management to develop data-driven solutions

  • Continuously improve capabilities and processes to drive superior results

  • Prepare and review draft versions of marketing publications, presentations, or brochures

PROGRAM DETAILS

This position is part of Smithfield's Career Foundation Program (CFP), a training program designed to provide recent college graduates with an opportunity to explore career options through function-specific rotations. The program is divided into tracks, each oriented towards a different part of the Company's operations. It provides CFP Associates with an opportunity to learn about an aspect of the Company's business while seeking a new position to launch a career with Smithfield. Company senior leaders, along with an assigned manager, mentor, and program manager, will provide guidance, training, and partnership throughout the CFP Associate's assigned rotations. The program is 18 to 24 months, depending on the rotational track the Associate enters.

CFP Associates are expected to contribute to the goals of each department to which they are assigned. They will assist in problem-solving, assume leadership roles for certain projects, help the department achieve both short and long-term objectives, and deliver high-level results that exceed expectations. The Career Foundation Program is designed for high-potential college/university graduates who can quickly adapt to new environments, show initiative, and take on increasingly complex project responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university; or currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by end of current semester.

  • Be able to relocate one to two times during rotation.

  • Must possess a high level of professionalism, discretion and ability to self-manage his/her time from remote locations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Travel up to 15-25% of time. Periodic overnight travel required.

  • Currently authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Valid state driver license with acceptable driving record (depending on rotational track)

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Office, facility and laboratory environment to include lifting, stretching, bending, reaching, walking, climbing, travel by car and aircraft.

  • The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Specific vision includes close vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Frequently required to sit, use hands to handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
