Job Description

Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and sanitize floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas.

Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper), and ensure proper disposal of waste.

Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.

Dust and clean windows, furniture, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, and vents.

Set up and break down furniture or equipment for events, meetings, or special activities.

Lock and unlock buildings or rooms as scheduled.

Monitor and report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken equipment, or safety hazards.

Operate and maintain custodial equipment safely (e.g., floor buffers, vacuums, wet/dry vacuums).

Follow proper procedures for the use and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Remove snow from entry way, on occasion.

Comply with all safety and health regulations and organizational policies.

Able to lift ten pounds.

Respond to emergency clean-up situations such as spills.

Working events and games, as needed.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm; nights and weekends as required by events.

Minimum Qualifications

A job offer for this position is contingent on passing a physical examination to determine if the candidate possesses the physical capabilities necessary to perform the essential functions.

* Ability to read and write.
* A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
* One year of general maintenance and/or custodial experience preferred.
* Some knowledge of methods for cleaning equipment and buildings; mechanical ability for minor repair of equipment.
* Ability on a daily basis to:
- Visualize work area and determine what tasks need to be performed
- Bend, squat, reach, stretch, walk, stand, sit, grasp and twist repeatedly
- Climb stairs, step stools, and ladders; climb and descend stairwells
- Lift, carry, and set down objects of moderate weight (25- 50 lbs.)
* Work may include one or more of the following:
- Working in areas of extreme temperatures
- Wearing a backpack vacuum for long periods of time
- Wearing protective mask and hearing protection devices
- Working around dust and cleaning chemicals
* Good physical coordination and mechanical aptitude sufficient to perform assigned duties.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15.50 - $18.00 (hourly)

Grade: GGS-C
